What is ONID?
ONID accounts provide:- Email (username@onid.orst.edu, 200MB per user)
- File storage (1GB per user)
- Personal web pages (including MySQL database access)
- UNIX shell access
- Access to other services (wireless network, Blackboard, ResNet, IS computer labs, Interlibrary Loan, plus more)

08.27.2008 - ONID Maintenance Sunday August 31st 8:00am - 11:00am
Maintenance will be performed on the following ONID services Sunday August 31st from 8:00am to 11:00am:
- ONID-FS (Windows, Mac, and FTP access to home directories)
- ONID shell server (shell.onid.oregonstate.edu)
- ONID web server (http://onid.oregonstate.edu)
- ONID personal web pages (http://oregonstate.edu/~username)
- CWS shell server (access.cws.oregonstate.edu by FTP, SFTP, SSH)
During this time, these services will be unavailable.

- ONID account creation
- ONID password changes

05.02.2008 - WARNING: Phishing Emails
In the last month, OSU email accounts have been the target of a coordinated phishing attack. Most of you have probably already received an email pretending to be from ONID or OSU computer support. These emails ask for your username or email address and your password.
NEVER GIVE YOUR PASSWORD TO ANYONE
OSU computer support personnel will never ask for your password.
